Coldplay at Austin City Limits

So, we braved the fears of hurricane Rita wreaking havoc on the 2005 Austin City Limits Festival and made our way down to Austin, TX on Friday. The issue was not Rita, it was the oppressive heat (two of the three hottest days on record for Austin were this weekend) and amazing amounts of dust and dead grass flying through the air all weekend long. Most of us are now sick or have some kind of respitory problems, but it was well worth it. I am not sure I would like to do it again in 108 degree heat, but the shows from bands like Widespread Panic, Bloc Party, Theivery Corporation and Coldplay were awesome. They ended the 2005 ACL festival with Coldplay on the main SBC stage and they didn't leave anyone disappointed. Just a side note, the War Child album featuring Coldpay, Radiohead and others was released a couple of days ago. The War Child album is a fundraising effort to help the children of the Bosnian War. Go pick one up.
